In comparison many well-known brands of tampons, pads and panty liners are made mostly of synthetic fibres, like rayon. Period pads from many of the best known brands contain something called SAPs, which stands for Super Absorbent Polymers and that are made from polymers derived from crude oil. Organyc tampons, panty liners and period pads do not contain Super Absorbent Polymers. Organyc uses cotton that naturally absorbs up to 20 times its weight.
Natural tampons and pads often contain wood pulp. It’s not what you expect. But that’s what you’re probably using. Wouldn’t you prefer organic cotton in your period products?
